Bookkeeper

Farmers & Merchants Union Bank is seeking a Bookkeeper in their Deposit Operations department. Full-time schedule is Monday-Friday, including Saturday morning rotations. Banking experience is not necessary and training will be provided.

The Bookkeeper is responsible for assisting in the management of day-to-day accounting and finance requirements for the bank. Confidentiality, excellent organization skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in aspects of accounts payable/accounts receivable and billing
• Strong knowledge of bank products and services
• Handle incoming customer calls and respond to account inquiries or transfer to the appropriate staff member
• Provide support to staff for deposit operation issues
• Handle item entry processing
• Provide debit card support to customers and staff
• Reconcile account and manage account records as necessary
• Assist in office management and organization procedures
• Monitor office supply stock and report/order when necessary
• Prepare outgoing mailings

Preferred skills, knowledge and abilities:

• Personable and comfortable communicating with clients over the phone as a regular part of daily duties
• Critical thinking skills
• 1 to 2 years administrative/general office/bookkeeping experience preferred
• Organizational, planning and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent client service and written/verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS office software, and ability to navigate easily through Internet based systems
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain professionalism and courtesy

Electronic Banking Specialist

Farmers & Merchants Union Bank is seeking an Electronic Banking Specialist in their IT Processing department. Full-time schedule is Monday-Friday, including Saturday morning rotations. Banking experience is not necessary and training will be provided.

The Electronic Banking Specialist supports the day-to-day operations of behind-the-scenes bank functions, as well as supports customers and staff. This position includes duties such as processing of deposit and loan file maintenance, supporting Consumer and Business Banking (including online banking and bill payment functions), processing electronic and wire transfers, and running data processing programs. The Electronic Banking Specialist assists with all aspects of online banking, providing support to customers through the bank’s Call Center and to bank staff through the Help Desk. The ideal candidate is computer literate in a windows environment. Confidentiality, excellent organization skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities:

• Handle incoming customer and staff calls; respond to inquiries in a timely and patient manner
• Support all phases of consumer and business online banking
• Assist with the online banking work flow, which includes, but is not limited to: application processing, user onboarding, managing user limits, wire transfer processing, maintaining user profiles to enable additional services and tracking applications
• Provide backup for all areas of Operations, ensuring coverage as needed
• Provide excellent customer service and assists in resolving problems within given authority
• Provide debit card support to bank staff
• Draft new procedures and provide updates to existing procedures as needed for the purpose of streamlining operational functions
• Develop a strong knowledge of bank products and services
• Provide debit card support to customers and staff
